A winter wonderland
Whether you're into skiing, snow boarding, cross-country skiing or winter hiking – you will not fail to enjoy the unrivalled views of the Zugspitz Arena.
The Zugspitz Arena covers a vast area: 52 climbing lifts – the most modern cable cars, chair lifts and T-bar lifts – link up to the wonderful highs, while 152 kilometres of the most varied slopes take you back down again. Whether you're a racing skier or someone who winds down the slop with pure enjoyment, a master of the slopes or a beginner – everyone will find the landscape that suits their style, speed and conditions here.
For snow boarders, Zugspitz Arena boasts something very special – fun parks and halfpipes offer pure enjoyment.
Guaranteed snow until spring
In the Tyrolean snow areas around the Zugspitze, downhill descent is available into springtime of course; snow machines do their bit if snow is thin on the ground. The skiing areas such as Ehrwalder Alm and Wetterstein also don't allow themselves to be affected by the unpredictability of nature. Snow machines guarantee snow on the slopes.
The perfect preparation of the slopes ensures that you will always be safe en route and that you will improve your ability level and increase your speed from one day to the next. Only the old huts along the sides of the slopes will be able to slow you down...
Enjoy all types of snow!
Out and about on 60 kilometres of cleared winter hiking routes. On a romantic sleigh ride or even on the ice – carve out your circles on idyllic natural ice rinks, show what your biceps are made of in a game of curling. As a snow shoe walker you will get ahead of touring skiers on patches of deep snow. A climb up through the woods is followed by a speedy downhill descent – on the sledge. Best experienced on a clear full-moon night when the stars are close by.
Cross-country skiers keep the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena as a true insider’s tip. More than 100 kilometres of cross-country ski tracks take you through magical landscapes and pose some challenges both to beginners and to cross-country professionals. Wherever you start out on the cross-country network – there are plenty of long circuits and opportunities for interesting short cuts.
Unlimited ski sport
The “Happy Ski Card” allows skiers and boarders not only to use all the lifts in the Zugspitz Arena, but also all those in the Seefeld and Garmisch regions. Anyone who isn’t quite ready to “experience” the slopes is best off heading straight to one of the six Alpine skiing schools. In just a few days children and adult beginners or those requiring a refresher course will be well on their way.
Parents can be happy in the knowledge that their young skiers are in the best of hands with ski instructors who are not only trained in sports but also in education. Perfect for a bit of me time.
